Massage Therapy is a holistic practice treating muscles, tendons, ligaments and surrounding tissues. Used on its own it will help to lengthen and soften various structures, however it can also be used in conjuction with physiotherapy treatments. At Village Physiotherapy our massage therapist will work closely with your physiotherapist to ensure you get the most optimal treatment.
Massage therapy involves the manipulation of soft tissues to help alleviate your discomfort. This discomfort may be associated with everyday and occupational stressors, exercise/sports, many chronic pain conditions and muscular pain. As a result massage is an effective way to restore your body making you feel relaxed, released and rejuvenated.
Our massage therapist will not only utilise her hands in your treatment but may also incorporate cupping. Used as an adjunct to massage it is an effective way to help lengthen and soften the soft tissues. Our therapist will utilise cupping to alter your soft tissue integrity.
Numerous types of massage are available at Village Physio including: remedial, relaxation, sports, pregnancy and manual lymphatic drainage.
