Dry Needling

Dry needling is a technique using acupuncture needles to relieve myofascial pain. When tissues are extremely tight, often needling can be used to help loosen the area.

Often needling is pain free, however occasionally clients may feel an ache or the reproduction of their symptoms. This is due to the needle targeting the source of your pain.

The technique is applied after a thorough assessment of your injury and is used in combination with other therapies. At Village Physiotherapy Shellharbour, all of our therapists are trained in the use of dry needling.

Needling is not used in all cases, so if you do not like needling please notify our clinicians at the start of your session.
